Yn ei wyth wythnos gyntaf, cysylltodd dros 1,200 o blant a phobl ifanc â ‘meic’ - y llinell gymorth sy’n cynnig cyngor ac eiriolaeth ar draws Cymru gyfan.
Ar ddiwedd 2009, roedd 12.0 y cant o bobl ifanc rhwng 16-18 mlwydd oed yn NEET (14,000) o’i gymharu â 12.5 y cant (15,000) yn 2008 ac 11.8 y cant (14,000) yn 2007.
O gymharu â 2007, gwelwyd cynnydd yn y gyfran o bobl rhwng 16 a 18 oed mewn addysg neu hyfforddiant a gostyngiad yn y gyfran mewn cyflogaeth.
Ar y cyfan, gwelwyd cynnydd yn lefelau cymhwyster yng Nghymru yn 2009, yn parhau â’r cynnydd cyffredinol dros y blynyddoedd diweddar. Amcangyfrifwyd bod 14 y cant o oedolion o oedran gweithio yng Nghymru heb gymhwyster, yn union fel 2008.
Cofrestrwyd 5,330 o fyfyrwyr mewn Sefydliadau AU yng Nghymru a gafodd eu haddysgu rywfaint drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg, 19.9 y cant yn uwch na’r nifer yn 2007/008 (4,445).

Experts today warned that the UK’s economy – currently the sixth largest in the world – is set to slide down the international rankings unless its skills and employment systems are fundamentally reformed and improved. This report is based on evidence from inspections of personal, social, health and economic education in schools between September 2006 and July 2009 in 165 maintained schools in England. It reports on standards in the subject, and highlights the key areas in need of improvement.
The explicit intention of this report is to review the evidence on the extent to which skills pay for the individual, for firms and collectively for the UK.
