
Cynhelir yr ymgynghoriad yn genedlaethol gyda chanolfannau, cyrff dyfarnu ac amrywiaeth o randdeiliaid allweddol, ynghylch meini prawf diwygiedig TGAU mewn pynciau gwyddonol. Bydd yr ymgynghoriad yn parhau am 12 wythnos a dylid cyflwyno ymatebion erbyn 11 Medi.
Roedd sefydlu rhwydwaith Addysg Bellach Cyfrwng Cymraeg - y Coleg Ffederal - yn un o ymrwymiadau Llywodraeth y Cynulliad yn y cytundeb ‘Cymru’n Un’. Bellach, mae’r Gweinidog wrthi’n ystyried ei hymateb i’r adroddiad, a’r camau nesaf i’w cymryd.
Mae cyfanswm gwariant refeniw net awdurdodau lleol ar gyfer yr holl wasanaethau wedi’i gyllidebu i gynyddu 3.1% rhwng 2008-09 a 2009-10. Mae hyn yn cymharu â chynnydd o 2.5% sydd wedi’i gyllidebu ar gyfer gwasanaethau addysg. Mae’r gwariant gros ar ysgolion (gan gynnwys yr holl ffynonellau cyllid) wedi’i gyllidebu i gynyddu 3.7%, i £2,385 miliwn yn 2009/10.
Cyfnod Allweddol 1: Roedd cyfran y disgyblion yng Nghymru a gyrhaeddodd y lefel ddisgwyliedig ychydig yn is nac yn Lloegr ym mhob pwnc ac eithrio Gwyddoniaeth, lle cafwyd yr un cyfartaledd yng Nghymru a Lloegr. Cyfnod Allweddol 2: Roedd disgyblion Cymru’n perfformio’n well na’u cyfoedion yn Lloegr mewn Saesneg a Mathemateg, ac roedd eu perfformiad mewn Gwyddoniaeth o’r un safon.
Mae’r Gweinidog Addysg, Jane Hutt, wedi ymrwymo i sicrhau dyfodol addysg uwch ym Mlaenau’r Cymoedd i wasanaethu’r trigolion yno. Bydd menter Prifysgol Blaenau’r Cymoedd yn allweddol yn yr ymgyrch i drawsnewid perfformiad a rhagolygon ardal sydd ag un o’r lefelau sgiliau isaf yn y DU.

Sir Jim Rose was asked to make recommendations on the identification and teaching of children with dyslexia, and on how best to take forward the commitment in the Children’s Plan to establish a pilot scheme in which children with dyslexia will receive Reading Recovery support or one-to-one tuition from specialist dyslexia teachers.
Over 3.6 million vocational qualifications were awarded last year according to figures released by Edge to celebrate VQ Day(Vocational Qualifications Day). The figures show an increase of 350,000 in the number of vocational qualifications awarded, up 11 per cent on the previous year.
