
Mae ystadegau a ryddhawyd yn dangos bod £4.4 biliwn wedi ei wario ar blant yng Nghymru yn 2006-07. Dyma’r tro cyntaf y mae ystadegau cynhwysfawr o’r math hwn wedi’u rhyddhau yn y Deyrnas Unedig ac mae’n un o ofynion allweddol Confensiwn y Cenhedloedd Unedig ar Hawliau’r Plentyn.
Mae’r Gweinidog dros Blant, Addysg, Dysgu Gydol Oes a Sgiliau wedi cydsynio bod y rhestr Cymeradwyo Cymwysterau yn cael ei chyhoeddi ar gyfer dysgwyr yng Nghymru. Mae hyn yn golygu bod y cyrsiau sy’n arwain at ennill cymwysterau yn gymwys yng Nghymru i gael cyllid oddi wrth AAL neu wrth LCC.
Mae cronfa o £2 filiwn sydd â’r nod o annog prifysgolion Cymru i helpu unigolion a busnesau i oroesi’r trafferthion economaidd presennol wedi cael ei lansio.

Mae'r gwaith o wirio cydweddoldeb y fframwaith ar gyfer cymwysterau addysg uwch yn Lloegr, Cymru a Gogledd Iwerddon (FHEQ) bellach ar ben. Mae'r adroddiad yn nodi i ba raddau y mae'r fframwaith ar gyfer cymwysterau addysg uwch yn cydweddu â fframwaith cymwysterau addysg uwch Ewrop (FQ-EHEA).

The introduction of Diplomas for 14-19 year olds is a central part of the government’s reform of 14-19 education and represents a major innovation in educational opportunity for young people in England. The Diplomas are being offered at three levels and across 17 lines of learning, and are being implemented in four phases (from September 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011).
